Deposits

Bookings WILL NOT BE CONFIRMED unless accompanied with a 25% deposit which must be made to Market Square Group within a maximum of 3 days from receipt of invoice. In certain cases, and for some events, we may require a higher deposit payment.

Balance of Payments

The balance of payment for events must be made 30 days prior to the first advertised day of each event. The balance due date will be noted on your invoice. Balance for Christmas 'long stay' Markets are due 8 weeks prior to the start date.

Information For Trader/Participants

Sandwich is one of Kent's most popular tourist destinations and the summer months see numbers increase significantly in the historic cinq ports town. An early outing with a smaller market offer this year confirmed that the demographic is right for our family friendly food festival offer which is now a firm favourite in several other Kent venues. Once again we have found an idyllic location in Quay Green sitting alongside the River Stour with some wonderful natural shade provided by river bank tress and adjacent to the largest car park in town. We are really looking forward to this one.

Interesting Facts About The Venue

The place-name 'Sandwich' is first attested in the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, where it appears as Sondwic in 851 and Sandwic in 993. In the Domesday Book of 1086 it appears as Sandwice. The suffix -wich comes from the Anglo Saxon -wīc, meaning a dwelling or fortified place where trade takes place. The name means "market town on sandy soil".
