Hythe Food & Drink Festival

Event Date(s)

17/07/2024 - 21/07/2024 - 5 day(s)

Information For Trader/Participants

We launched the Hythe Food and Drink Festival in 2016 and we are now looking forward to an 9th glorious year of food related fun on Holman's Field alongside the Royal Military Canal. The location is second to none offering a serene backdrop to what has become a busy, bustling event full of activity for all ages now firmly established as a 'must do' destination to coincide with the school summer holidays.

We were confident from the outset that we could deliver a successful event in a town that we have strong connections with, but none of us here at the Market Square Group could have foreseen just how popular it would become.

Due to continuing popularity this event is running over 5 days for the third time.
This event has seen footfall between 10,000 and 14,000 over the 3 day duration in previous years.

Interesting Facts About The Venue

The Royal Military Canal runs across the northern edge of the marsh, to Winchelsea. Running under Stade Street, the canal, intended to repel invasion during the Napoleonic wars of 1804 to 1815, gives central Hythe its character. Now shaded by trees, the canal, 10 yards wide, passes into the marsh from the middle of the town. The canal begins at Seabrook and runs through Hythe. It follows the original haven that was once Hythe's harbour as far as the light railway thence across Romney Marsh to Winchelsea. Its 26-mile length can be walked.
