Margate Food & Drink Festival

Event Date(s)

05/05/2018 - 07/05/2018 - 3 day(s)

Information For Trader/Participants

A first for us in the up and coming Kent Coastal resort of Margate home to the Turner Gallery, rejuvenated Dreamland Leisure Park and the iconic Winter Gardens - one of Kent's premier entertainments venue. Margate is certainly enjoying a revival of fortunes last seen in its Victorian heyday, with new independent shops, cafes, restaurants and street markets working alongside long standing attractions to make the town a popular destination for weekend visitors and those seeking a change of lifestyle by the sea.

The venue is mid way between the winter gardens and the turner gallery on Fort Crescent within easy walking distance from the town centre and offering a unique location that looks out onto the sea below.

Our blend of family friendly food focused fun will find an eager audience within the community and the visitors who have come to spend their bank holiday by the sea.

The event will open for Friday evening for bar, music and hot food traders.
Non-hot food will have the option to set up Saturday morning.

Information For Visitors

Our food festivals are designed to promote the cultural identity of the local area against a regional, national and international backdrop, showcasing food and drink products and associated attractions to create a quality community event and provide visitors with an entertaining and memorable experience.

Children's rides, a programme of live music and craft beer bar all adds up to a tasty offer.

Please see our Event Visitors tab for a list of stalls that will be attending

Interesting Facts About The Venue

Margate was recorded as "Meregate" in 1264 and as "Margate" in 1299, but the spelling continued to vary into modern times. The name is thought to refer to a pool gate or gap in a cliff where pools of water are found, often allowing swimmers to jump in.
