Families and residents took advantage of the summery weather and sampled the delights of the Stamford Food and Drink Festival.

This was the second Stamford Food and Drink Festival hosted by Market Square Group on the Meadows.

It involved a number of traders selling everything from jerk chicken to halloumi wraps, artisan cheeses to wood fired pizza,  chocolate brownies to freshly cooked churros.

For those people who wanted to quench their thirst, they could buy one of a variety of gins from The Gin Trailer or coffee from Cherizana Coffee.

To add a little extra entertainment to proceedings a live music stage ran throughout the weekend featuring performances from local singers and bands including Jamie Gilman-Lewis.

Paul Kennedy, director of organisers the Market Square Group, said: “It was great to see so many people out and about on the Meadows over the course of the weekend and we hope they enjoyed the food, drink and entertainment on offer at our event.”

The Market Square Group are also hosting the Stamford Music Festival on the Meadows from July 14 to July 16. Acts booked to play include Top Banana Band, Groove Cartell, The Gangsters, Austin Gold and The Balloons.

Tickets for this event, costing just £10 for the weekend, are available from Stamford Music Shop, Stamford Arts Centre and online from
