A tantalising array of local, national and international food will be on offer at the first ever Tonbridge Food and Drink Festival next month.

The three-day event is being held on the Tonbridge Castle lawns from Friday May 20 to Sunday May 22 and is organised by established market event specialist the Market Square Group.

It runs from 5pm to 9pm on the Friday, 9am to 7pm on the Saturday and 10am to 6pm on the Sunday.

To give a taste of what will be on offer, from a local level there will be Kentish marshmallows and macaroons, a traditional Kent hog roast and Kent-made tray bakes and brownies.

Other stalls will be selling fudge, Spanish saucisson and paella, deep fried whitebait, pan fried king prawns and German sausages.

There will also be stalls offering freshly handmade bread, pastries and cakes, chilli products made from home grown chillies, bottled beers and ciders, sweet baklava and churros.

Visitor entry to the festival will be free of charge.

Paul Kennedy said: “We are delighted to be running the Tonbridge Food and Drink festival for 2016.

“Take up has been very strong for this inaugural event and we now have more than 50 stalls booked in with a fantastic range of local, regional national and international products and produce.

“Craft beer bar, pop up kitchens and live music will add to the proceedings on the Tonbridge Castle lawns as we deliver fun for foodies, and those people that simply like food.”

Market Square Group has put on similar market events across the UK since 2009.

The Tonbridge Food and Drink Festival is also in partnership with The Index Magazine.
