Event description
Exeter is a City where business is sure to be done, the problem has always been finding the right location. Now, I believe we have it. We were very pleasantly surprised to be offered the Cathedral Grounds, having made the application last year after our first visit to Exeter with a market in Fore Street. The Cathedral Grounds are used cross roads and meeting place for the local community with a turnover of tourists throughout the year. Shops, restaurants and hotels operate on the adjacent Cathedral Close. This is a rare opportunity to trade in the beautiful and awe inspiring surroundings of one of Britain's best examples of Gothic Architecture.

Event description
Nottingham with its surrounding boroughs has the 7th largest population in the country. Redevelopment of the Old Market Square has confirmed it as the heart of the street with arterial streets leading to it from all directions. Not only is the Council House on the square, but also the city's high end shopping area - the Exchange Arcade. Nottingham has a healthy number of independent shops as well as all the major chains and with the waterfront as well as architecture dating back to 11th Century, it has major people pulling power. The arts and academic worlds are also alive and well with 2 theatres and 2 universities one of which is the most oversubscribed in the country.

Venue Summary
The city of Nottingham has a population of 288,700., but the overall urban area including the surrounding boroughs nets a population of 667,000. Some of Nottingham's catchment spills over into the neighbouring administrative County of Derbyshire. Nottingham's urban area is the seventh largest urban area in the United Kingdom, ranking between those of Liverpool and Sheffield. The city proper population is notably smaller, this is because the city boundary is a historical one and is tightly drawn, therefore this boundary excludes many places which today are part of Nottingham. The Nottingham Urban Area does include these areas which are the large expanse of suburbs, along with nearby towns such as Ilkeston and Eastwood.

Plymouth boasts a choice of over 500 major shops as the biggest regional shopping centre west of Bristol. All of these are clustered around Armada Way - one of the biggest pedestrian streets in the UK which runs through the heart of the City. Armada Way is the venue for our market and few better locations can there be. The demographics of the City are interesting too with Plymouth home to the 11th largest university (by total number of students) in the UK as well as 3 other large colleges - Art/Teacher Training and Maritime Science. A rich maritime heritage, the old town, navel dock yards and some great old pubs make the prospect of an enjoyable visit even stronger.

Venue Summary
Plymouth is a city and unitary authority area on the coast of Devon, England, about 190 miles (310 km) south west of London. It is built between the mouths of the rivers Plym to the east and Tamar to the west, where they join Plymouth Sound. Since 1967 the City of Plymouth has included the suburbs of Plympton and Plymstock, which are on the east side of the River Plym. In 1620 the Pilgrim Fathers left Plymouth for the New World and established Plymouth Colony — the second English settlement in what is now the United States of America. During the English Civil War the town was held by the Parliamentarians and was besieged between 1642 and 1646. The city's naval importance later led to its targeting and partial destruction during World War II, an act known as the Plymouth Blitz. After the war the city centre was completely rebuilt. Today the city is home to over 250,000 people, making it the 15th most populous city in England. It is governed locally by Plymouth City Council and is represented nationally by three MPs. Plymouth's economy is still strongly influenced by shipbuilding, but has become a more service-based economy since the 1990s. It has the 11th largest university in the United Kingdom by number of students, the University of Plymouth, and the largest operational naval base in Western Europe — HMNB Devonport. Plymouth has ferry links to France and Spain and an airport with European services.
