Are They Coming into Town or Going Out?

In general, we have found that events that are supported fully by local organisers have a far better chance of success than those that are left to their own devices.

We believe that working closely with those that have the local knowledge is essential

The Town Centre Manager provides the cucial link between visiting events and the community, and a pro-active TCM is worth their weight in gold.

We recognise the pressures on you and in your job there is no better adage than the one that says 'you can not please all of the people all of the time', but you will find that by working with us the pressure of responsibilty will be greatly eased.

We will
  • Help Design an Event that is Right for your Town
  • Involve Local Business in our Events (stalls can be provided)
  • Provide Risk Assessments and Insurances
  • Liase with Local Groups
  • Provide Safe and Tested Power Solutions
  • Deliver What is Agreed

Town Centre Managers and Market Managers

Is Anyone Out There? The simple answer is yes and if we can help you with your project we will - if not, we may well know someone who can. Tell us what you want to achieve, tell us what you need and let's explore the possibility of moving forward on projects together.

We are inviting you the Town Centre Managers to register with us, so that we can inform you directly of any developments that might be of interest.  It can often be a lonely occupation and a single handed struggle dealing with all the different individuals and groups that make up the community.  The day to day running of a town let alone organising an event will often seem an impossible task.....By registering with us, you will find that there is someone out there who can help.

Looking Ahead

2009 promises to be a tough year for the economy and for retailers in particular.  It is our responsibility - yours as host and ours as operators, to ensure that visiting events are given the best possible chance of success.

Local business will want to know that they can benefit from the an increase in footfall that a town centre event should bring, or even, that they have the opportunity to be part of the event.

Visiting traders will want to know that they are important to the fortunes of a town centre and that they are being given a serious opportunity to do business.

Benefits of Becoming a Registered User of Our Site

We have created a forum that can be used by anyone involved in Street Markets and Town Festivals.  By registering with us, we will provide you with a user ID and a password, so that you can access the site at anytime.  There is no cost attached and we will not plague you with spam e-mails - what you will get is:

  • Access to our database of traders
  • Impartial advice
  • Support in developing the right event for your town
  • A free of charge consultation at your office
  • Access to the feed back that we are getting from the public and traders

How Can We Increase the Chances of Success?

  • By working together to develop new and original themes
  • By identifying a date in the town or city calendar that is most likely to attract the attention of the community and visitors
  • By promoting the event thouroughly and accurately to bring that extra footfall in

Contribute to our Events Page

We may have already worked with you or booked an event with you for the future.  It is our intention to give traders who are considering an event booking, a thorough overview of both the event and the venue.

We invite all TCMs to contribute to our events booking section where we have provided a Venue Details section.  Here, we would like to include a short contribution from the town or city itself and who better to provide it than you.

The piece should be relevant to events - so perhaps an anecdote on market trading or a reference to feedback on previous events from visitors or the council.  You could even include your personal vision for the town/city in relation to visiting events and their place within the community.
